How much of your brain are you losing each year?

After the age of 25 we lose 2 g of your brain mass per year. In terms of percentage, by the time we reach 80 years old we have lost 7.5 % of our brain mass.

One part of brain health is keeping what we already have: maintain our cognitive function, our memories, are wits – what about brain mass?

Aging results in loss of muscle mass and if you want to prevent reduction of muscle function then you need to work at maintaining your muscle mass.

To retain as much mental function do we have to workout the brain to prevent loss of brain mass?
